So far, OnePlus has been one of the fastest companies to provide Android updates for its devices. We are curious to see how this will change now that the company has more devices on its portfolio. When it comes to Android 11, the company already has the OnePlus 8T that came with it straight out of the box and the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro that currently are under the beta program. Just recently, the company has begun the rollout of the Open Beta 4 of its OxygenOS 11 variant of Android for the OnePlus 8 family. This isn’t a huge update packed with features. Instead, its focus is on fixing bugs and updating the security patch.
The new firmware brings a set of optimizations and fixes some bugs introduced with the previous build. The Android Security Patch level has been upgraded to November 2020, which is excellent. After all, many flagships in the market don’t have this security patch. The company optimized the In-cal stability, the power consumption that should help users to preserve more battery.
